2. Information we collect

On our website: your email address when you join the waitlist, and anonymous, cookie-free analytics via Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Through payments: payment information is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record). We do not see or store your card details.

3. How the desktop app handles your data

Scruto is a desktop application. Your files, analysis results, and settings are stored locally on your computer. We do not have access to them.

To provide AI-powered analysis, Scruto sends portions of your media (images and extracted text) to the Anthropic (Claude) API using your own API key. The connection is direct — from your device to Anthropic — and does not pass through our servers. Your API key is stored locally and is never transmitted to us. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models.

Scruto also sends GPS coordinates from your file metadata to OpenStreetMap to convert them into readable location names. Results are cached locally.

Speech transcription runs entirely on your device. The desktop app does not include any telemetry, analytics, or crash reporting.

4. Third-party services

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data retention

We retain your email address for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].
